This Privacy Policy explains how Cochran Cyber Education LLC ("CCE," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit cceplayer.com, contact us, download or use CCE Player, purchase or use an exam pack, request support, or otherwise interact with our products and services (collectively, the "Services").

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

We may collect information that you provide directly, including:

  • Your name, email address, and the contents of messages you send to us.
  • Order or receipt information you provide when requesting support or a refund.
  • Information you choose to provide when reporting a technical problem.
  • Marketing preferences if you choose to subscribe to promotional email.

Payments are processed by our merchant-of-record and payment provider, Lemon Squeezy. CCE does not receive or store your complete payment-card number or card security code. Lemon Squeezy may provide CCE with order-related information such as your checkout email, customer and order identifiers, product and variant purchased, purchase date, license information, tax location information, and refund or chargeback status.

License, activation, and entitlement information

When a paid exam pack is activated or validated, we may process:

  • Internal license and entitlement identifiers and license status.
  • The purchased exam pack, certification exam code or version, product tier, purchase date, update-entitlement end date, and last eligible content version.
  • A randomly generated installation identifier.
  • A salted or otherwise protected one-way device fingerprint used to recognize a device, rather than raw hardware serial numbers.
  • Activation-provider instance identifiers and activation, deactivation, validation, and reset timestamps.
  • CCE Player version, exam-pack version, and general operating-system version needed for compatibility and support.
  • The time and result of the most recent license validation and non-sensitive error codes.
  • Administrative records of activation resets, support overrides, refunds, and chargebacks.

We do not intentionally collect raw MAC addresses, motherboard serial numbers, drive serial numbers, TPM identifiers, lists of files or installed applications, exact device location, practice-question answers, practice scores, study history, or time spent studying for activation purposes.

Website and security information

When you use the website or our online services, our hosting, security, and delivery providers may automatically process limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, requested pages, timestamps, referring page, and security-event information. We use this information to operate the Services, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and protect users and CCE.

The website may use cookies or similar local-storage technologies that are necessary for security, checkout, preferences, or core site functions. CCE does not use information for cross-context behavioral advertising or sell personal information. If we later introduce nonessential analytics or advertising technologies, we will update this policy and provide notice or consent controls where required.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, deliver, activate, validate, update, and support CCE Player and purchased exam packs.
  • Enforce the two-device activation limit and prevent license sharing, fraud, and misuse.
  • Process orders, refunds, chargebacks, entitlement changes, and customer-service requests.
  • Diagnose compatibility, download, activation, and security problems.
  • Maintain and improve the reliability, safety, and usability of the Services.
  • Send transactional messages about orders, licenses, downloads, updates, security, or support.
  • Send promotional messages only where permitted and allow recipients to unsubscribe.
  • Comply with law, protect legal rights, and enforce our agreements.

3. How we disclose information

We may disclose information only as reasonably necessary to:

  • Payment and commerce providers. Lemon Squeezy acts as merchant of record for purchases and handles payment processing, applicable sales taxes, receipts, refunds, and chargebacks under its own terms and privacy practices.
  • Service providers. Vendors may provide hosting, content delivery, security, email, support, storage, error reporting, licensing, or similar business services. They may process information only for the services they provide to us and subject to applicable contractual or legal obligations.
  • Legal and safety purposes. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process; respond to lawful requests; investigate fraud, security incidents, or violations; or protect the rights, safety, and property of CCE, customers, or others.
  • Business changes. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of some or all business assets, subject to applicable law.
  • With your direction. We may disclose information when you direct or authorize us to do so.

CCE does not sell or rent personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Retention

We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide perpetual access to eligible product versions, maintain license and transaction records, resolve support issues, prevent fraud, comply with accounting or legal obligations, and establish or defend legal claims.

  • Raw IP-address and failed-request security logs are generally retained for no more than 30 days unless they are needed for an active security, fraud, chargeback, or legal investigation.
  • Order, license, entitlement, refund, and activation records may be retained while a license or continuing download entitlement exists and afterward for the period reasonably required for accounting, fraud prevention, support, and legal compliance.
  • Support communications are retained only as long as reasonably needed to address the request and maintain appropriate business records.

When information is no longer reasonably needed, we delete it, de-identify it, or securely isolate it as appropriate.

5. Your choices and privacy requests

You may:

  • Unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in the message. Transactional or security messages may still be sent when necessary.
  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with you, subject to identity verification and legal exceptions.
  • Ask questions about our privacy practices or object to certain processing where applicable law provides that right.

Send privacy requests to support@cceplayer.com with the subject line Privacy Request. We may need to verify that the requester is the customer or license holder. We will not discriminate against a person for exercising an applicable privacy right.

6. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. These include limiting the information collected for activation, using one-way device identifiers instead of retaining raw hardware identifiers, restricting access, and using appropriate protections for information in transit and at rest. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. International users

CCE is based in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have privacy laws different from the laws where you live. We apply this policy to information under our control and use legally required safeguards where applicable.

8. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact support@cceplayer.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

9. Third-party services and links

The Services may link to third-party websites or services, including Lemon Squeezy. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We encourage you to review those policies before providing information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our Services, practices, providers, or legal obligations. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required by law.
